First Amendment rights. With teams of other lawyers, Neil has represented many people charged with crimes at political demonstrations, including protesters at the World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle in 1999. Nearly all of those cases resulted in dismissals. Neil also has successfully represented many Black Lives Matters protestors, environmental activists who hung from Seattleā€™s Aurora Bridge to protest over-fishing, climate-change activists arrested at large protests and many other people wrongfully arrested for exercising their First Amendment rights. Through the National Lawyers Guild, Neil often trains other lawyers on how to defend protestors.
