Felony sabotage. In 2016, Neil defended a filmmaker who was charged with felony sabotage when she was arrested filming a climate-change activist who turned off an oil pipeline valve. Along with co-counsel, Neil filed a series of briefs alleging a violation of the filmmaker’s First Amendment rights, obtaining international media attention to this violation of freedom of the press.
