Extradition. In another high-profile case, Neil represented one of two Canadian citizens accused of a triple murder in Washington State. Neil joined a team in both Canada and the United States to prevent their extradition from Canada to face the death penalty here. This involved working with lawyers on both sides of the border, in Washington State courts, American federal courts, Canadian courts, and international law tribunals. Ultimately, the effort led the Supreme Court of Canada to prevent the extradition of the two men unless the United States promised not to seek the death penalty. Neil has also been involved in other extradition matters, both within the United States and from the United States to foreign countries.
